Dear 8th Grade Parents,
I will be your child’s science teacher this year and look forward to
getting to know him/her. Your child has received some important handouts
regarding our school calendar, student fees, book rental, discipline procedures,
lunch account #s, and general school information that you will want to review.
As you peruse the information, please pay particular attention to the following
items that they will need for science class:
1. Composition Notebook (any color)
2. Binder or folder
3. Loose leaf paper
4. Science fee $5 (cash or check made to
NJHS)
5. Pen and/or pencils
6. Flash drive (optional, but highly recommended)
Simple tips for a successful year in Science
class
Following Directions – Necessary in the classroom as well as the real world
Attention to Detail – Will help make you a better reader and learner
Critical Thinking – Helps you to make the tough decisions and appreciate diverse perspectives
Good Work Ethic – Helps promote character
Respect - Respect your teacher, your peers, and all classroom property. If you’re having a problem
with something or someone, I expect you to discuss it privately with me. I will always treat you
fairly and with respect.
Please feel free to contact me at school via e-mail katrina.parrish@evsc.k12.in.us throughout the
school year if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Katrina Parrish
